I started the 3-Day Military Diet on Wednesday. More on the diet can be found at www.TheMilitaryDiet.com
So......how much weight did I lose? I lost 6 Pounds!!
I weighed myself Wednesday morning prior to my first meal. I followed the diet plan to a tee. I made no substitutions. I ate Breakfast each morning at 8:00 AM, Lunch at 1:00 PM and Dinner at 7:00 PM.
The only seasonings the diet recommends are zero calorie seasonings like salt, pepper, lemon juice and Mrs. Dash. Other no calorie seasonings include fresh garlic, ginger, cilantro, dill, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, curry, turmeric, cumin, sage and rosemary. The only seasoning I used was pepper.
I think what I liked about the diet was I already had about half the ingredients in the house. So Tuesday morning I went to the store and just picked up the rest of the stuff. For the first day dinner is only a small amount of meat. So I bought a package of 8 thin Eye of Round Steaks for $5. So I put two in the fridge and wrapped the other 6 in 3 bags and put them in the freezer for next week, just in case the diet works!! Same with the hot dogs. I bought a bag of 8 and froze the other 6 in 3 bags.
When the diet calls for 1/2 of a banana, I simply froze the other half into my frozen fruit bag for smoothies. So no waste there. The cottage cheese I bought the 4 pack that each container is 4 oz. For the Tuna, each can is 1/2 cup. A 1/2 cup of green beans I just bought a small can. For the carrots, I bought a 4-pack of the microwavable containers that need no refrigeration, which is great to have if I go on the diet again. They sell little cups of vanilla ice cream with 12 in a package. So one package is great for this week and next if I do it again. Each cup is 6 ounces.
It was kind of fun having a menu planned for you. No second guessing and no cheating at all. The first day went great. I went to bed with no hunger pains. I was satisfied. Day 2 started out great too. After dinner, however, I was still a little hungry so I decided to wait as long as I could for my dessert. The third day I wasn't hungry at all. I forced myself to eat breakfast but by lunch I was ready to eat. I'm not crazy about Tuna (especially without mayo) so I kind of forced myself to eat it because I came this far!!
All in all, not a bad diet if you have to lose some weight quickly!
