Grape Jelly Meatballs

These meatballs are usually done with frozen meatballs from Costco or wherever you buy a bag of frozen meatballs. I am not a fan of bagged meatballs so I made my own meatballs a couple of weeks ago and froze them. You can make the meatballs and then just freeze them an hour or use the premade frozen kind. I served these with a Pork Fried Rice from my neighborhood Chinese restaurant and my son made some Asian Broccoli and it was so delicious with the grape jelly sauce. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes or just plain for an appetizer with toothpicks into each meatball.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Pound Chop Meat

1/2 onion, minced

Salt & Pepper

2 Garlic Cloves

1/4 Tsp Basil

1/4 Tsp Parsley

16 oz. Grape Jelly

6 oz. Heinz Chili Sauce

4 Big Splashes of Sriracha

RECIPE:

Preheat oven to 375 Degrees.

Combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Mix well and form medium sized meatballs.

Bake in oven for 10 minutes and remove and turn them over and bake for another 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Put them in the freezer for an hour.

About 2 hours before serving, mix Jelly, Chili Sauce and Sriracha in a small pan. Mix well.

Add in meatballs and bring to a boil and then immediately turn it down to low and let simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

This sauce was so good.....like a sweet and sour sauce and it went perfect with the fried rice. After tasting the sauce, I ended up cutting the meatballs in half to further absorb the sauce.

Broccoli was cooked with Soy, Hoisin sauce, Garlic and black & white Sesame seeds
