KOA Lion Country Safari: Loxahatchee, Florida

Just got home from a 2 night trip to Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee Florida. It was great. As soon as I arrived, I paid the admission fee and drove thru the Safari. This giraffe was standing in the middle of the road and wouldn't let us cars thru for like 10 minutes!!

The animals all looked so happy and well cared for. They are all in different sections with each group having a very large area to roam.

The lions were roaring at 5:15 this morning and I woke up and they sounded like they were right across from me (which they actually were but there was a fence). It was so cool!

Anyway, I had made a nice burger and put it in my cooler to cook on my camp stove. Seasoned perfectly. So when dinner time came, after driving thru the safari, I got out my burger and realized I had forgot my burger bun home in the freezer. So I set up my Camp Oven and made a bun using Grand's Biscuits!

So, I cooked the burger on my camp stove just browning the outside. Then I took out two of my Grand's biscuits. I flattened one in the bottom of my cast iron skillet. I put the half cooked burger on top, added pickles and Swiss cheese and then flattened another bun on top.

Sealed it nice and tight.

It came so nice and toasty.

And, it was delicious!!

I biked all around and read a book and they have a heated pool. I really enjoyed myself and the place was spotless. Restrooms cleaned constantly. And this morning, before I left, I washed all my clothes and blankets and shee ttsheir laundry room. Perfect ending to a great 2 night trip. The campground was a little pricey but I am so glad I went. I had the entire tent camping section to myself!!
