Parmesan Cheese Straws

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese

1/2 tsp Coleman's Mustard

1/8 tsp Cayenne Pepper

1/4 Salt

One Egg whisked with 1 tsp water

One Sheet Puff Pastry

RECIPE:

Prepare 2 baking sheets covered with Parchment Paper

Mix the cheese, mustard, pepper & salt in a lttle bowl.

Lightly flour your work table.

Lay out the pastry on top of the floured work surface.

Roll out the dough using a rolling pin just to even it out.

Brush egg mixture on entire pastry.

On one half of the dough only, sprinkle the cheese mixture.

Now fold over the other side.

Using a knife or pizza wheel, cut long strips about 1" wide.

Lift the first strip and holding the two ends, twist and then lay it down on the parchment lined baking sheet pressing the two ends down so that they don't shrink while cooking. If the dough has become warm, pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes and then continue to prepare the rest of the strips.

Bake on 375 for about 15 to 20 minutes. As soon as they are done, get them off the baking sheet immediately so that they don't continue to steam and soften. Lay them out on a warming tray. Best served an hour after they are cooked. Enjoy!!

They go perfect with a Greek Salad
